ENG109 – English I is an A1 (starter) level asynchronous online compulsory course offered to the freshmen students of Vocational School of Justice in the fall term. It aims to develop students’ basic language skills in the target language, focusing on three language skills (reading, writing, listening) as well as including frequently used everyday expressions and phrases so that they can communicate and deal with everyday situations in English. Students are expected to become acquainted and build competency with some frequently used basic language structures and functions and lexical items. It is also intended to develop very basic critical thinking and communication skills of the learners throughout the course.
