ENG 122 Midterm – Make-Up Exam Announcement

Dear students,

ENG 122 MIDTERM MAKE-UP EXAM-I will be on Friday, 26 April 2024 at 10:00 in Modern Languages Building Floor-2, room-212. You are expected to be present in your designated exam room before 09:50 in order for us to carry out all necessary exam procedures and make announcements.  You are supposed to have your Çankaya University student ID cards and an extra ID card. **** THIS EXAM WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ONLY THOSE STUDENTS WHO HAVE APPLIED TO THE MODERN LANGUAGES UNIT WITH A MAKEUP PETITION TOGETHER WITH A VALID EXCUSE REPORT SUCH AS A HEALTH REPORT.

The exam consists of the first 6 weeks of the Eng122 course syllabus and the first 4 units of the Contemporary Topics-3 book.  The exam consists of:

  • Listening Part (60 points)
    • Listening-1 | Lecture and note-taking
    • Listening-2 | Listening to a conversation and answering questions related to it
  • Vocabulary Part (40 points)

and it is 100 points in total. The exam will take 60 minutes.

Midterm Exam-1 will be executed as follows:

  • ENG122 MIDTERM (60 mins.)

●     LISTENING-1 (Listening- note-taking) (You are going to hear the listening text TWICE.)

▪          1 min. silence (to go over the note-taking sheet)

▪          Listening (listening to the text for the 1st time)

▪          30 sec. silence

▪          Listening (listening to the text for the 2nd time)

▪          6 mins. (To go to the questions page and answer the questions)

●     LISTENING-3 (Listening- conversation) (You are going to hear the conversation TWICE.)

▪      2 min. silence (to go over the questions)

▪      Listening (Listening to the conversation for the 1st time)

▪      30 sec. silence

▪      Listening (Listening to the text for the 2nd time)

▪      2 mins. (To check the answers)

●     VOCABULARY

WARNING-1: If you arrive late for the exam, please contact Corridor Attendant.

WARNING-2: You will answer the questions in Listening-1 after listening to the lecture TWICE and have taken notes on note-taking sheet. Therefore, the booklets will be distributed to you upside down while listening to the lecture for the 2nd time. It is forbidden to open the booklets before the LECTURE IS OVER. You are expected to take and check your booklet as soon as the LECTURE (Listening-1) is over. You will have 6 minutes to answer the questions and check your answers.

WARNING-3: No one is allowed to leave the exam room until the listening session is over. (30 minutes)
