ENG 122 Midterm 1 Announcement

Dear students,

ENG 122 MIDTERM EXAM I will be on Friday, 17 April 2026 at 15:40. You are expected to be present in your designated exam rooms before 15:25 in order for us to carry out all necessary exam procedures and make announcements.  (Please, click here to check your designated exam rooms.) You are supposed to have your Çankaya University student ID cards and an extra ID card. 

The exam consists of the first 8 weeks of the ENG 122 course syllabus and the first 3 units of the Skillful 4 Listening and Speaking book. The exam is 100 points in total and will take 65 minutes.

The exam consists of:

  • Listening Part (60 points)
    • Listening 1 | Listening to lecture, note-taking, and answering related questions
    • Listening 2 | Listening to a conversation and answering related questions
  • Vocabulary Part (40 points)
    • Sentence and paragraph-level multiple choice questions
ENG 122 MIDTERM (65 mins.)

·     LISTENING 1 (Lecture – You are going to hear the listening text TWICE.)

    • 1 min. silence (to go over the note-taking sheet)
    • Listening (listening to the text for the 1st time and for note-taking)
    • 30 sec. silence
    • Listening (listening to the text for the 2nd time and for note-taking)
    • 8 mins. (To go to the questions page and answer the questions)

·     LISTENING 2 (Conversation – You are going to hear the conversation TWICE.)

·         2 min. silence (to go over the questions)

·         Listening (Listening to the conversation for the 1st time and answering the questions)

·         30 sec. silence

·         Listening (Listening to the text for the 2nd time and answering the questions)

·         2 mins. (To check the answers)

·     VOCABULARY (Sentence and paragraph-level multiple choice questions)

WARNING 1: If you arrive late for the exam, please contact Corridor Attendant.

WARNING 2: You will answer the questions in Listening 1 after listening to the lecture TWICE and have taken notes on note-taking sheet. Therefore, the booklets will be distributed to you upside down AFTER listening to the lecture for the 2nd time. You are expected to take and check your booklet as soon as the LECTURE (Listening 1) is over. You will have 8 minutes to answer the questions and check your answers.

WARNING 3: No one is allowed to leave the exam room until the listening session is over.
